Thad and Lee were both born in Western North Carolina. In their years growing up they have lived in Cashiers, NC, Glenville NC, Sylva, NC, Franklin, NC, Rabun Gap, Ga, Kansas City,MO, Ft Lauderdale, Fl and Washington,DC but chose to stay right here in WNC after they married. They know the area well and feel like they also know their customers very well whether they are from this area, moved here or just visiting here.

Thad Woods Auction. Since 1975, we have provided auction services to the people of Western North Carolina. We specialize in New Merchandise, Estate Auctions either in house or on sight, Business Liquidation Auctions in house or on sight, special Antique and Consignment Auctions for dealers and individuals in the community. Our 37 years of experience and commitment to excellence have earned us the reputation as the best Auction in the area.
Our Values
Leadership: At Thad Woods Auction, you receive the kind of and service you expect from an experienced auctioneer and staff. Our auction is always evolving as the needs of our customers change and as new merchandise comes on the market.
Our facility: We have approximately a 5,000 square foot facility with 2000 square foot warehouse. We have a seating capacity of 250+ with heating and air conditioning for your comfort. Seating will spoil you at our auction with reclining and padded seats. Lots of parking and well lighted parking lot. We have a wonderful concession stand for your eating enjoyment during the auction. It is a business but we also strive to make it a family type atmosphere. Invite your family and friends to attend an auction with you. You are in for a treat!
Our Dealers: We have a different dealer every night to give you a wonderful selection of different merchandise. We truly, never know what will on the auction block until the truck pulls in and unloads unless we are having an Estate or Antique Auction and the merchandise is previously set up on the floor. It is like Christmas every weekend. You never know what is coming through the door.on, you will be well pleased with your auction experience.-
